Townsend Communications sells Home in the Northland magazine ...

Townsend Communications Inc. has sold Home in the Northland magazine ? published since 1993 ? to Dillingham Communications Inc.

Financial terms were not disclosed, according to a news release Friday.

Dillingham Communications? president is Allen Dillingham.

The publication will be renamed North magazine and will publish March 1. Kandie Erickson, the current associate publisher, will remain in that position.

The magazine was initially called Peak before being renamed Home in the Northland. It was redesigned in 2009 and moved from four to six issues a year.

Guy Townsend, president of Townsend Communications, said the magazine was sold partly because his company has been focusing more on its MyMajors.com college recruiting division. The company also announced Friday that MyMajors had received a grant from the National Science Foundation to examine the feasibility of building an online advisement system for students planning to attend community college.
